Where Business Explores the Power of Location

Business GIS users from Darden, The Gap, Little Caesars, Petco, Starbucks, Cirque du Soleil, Aon, and QBE were some of the nearly 50 speakers at the 2013 Esri Business Summit. More than 500 attendees soaked up presentations focused on retail, risk management, supply chain and location analytics.

Esri introduced a new resource for business users interested in building community and sharing examples of successful GIS and location analytics applications via an ArcGIS Online group.  Check it out here.

We are all family here: that was the mantra of Rob Reiner, director of real estate research at Darden. Reiner explained how his company relies on team work for using technology, including GIS for all aspects of marketing and sales.

Mark Smith, the CEO and Chief Research Officer for Ventana Research stressed the importance of location analytics in business intelligence.

The Esri Business Summit was a success, despite some clowning around.
