ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1 (Language Packs) Released

Esri is pleased to announce that ArcGIS 10.1 Service Pack 1 is now available for download in the following languages:

Please download this service pack at your earliest convenience to take advantage of maintenance fixes, performance improvements, software enhancements, and translation updates; all of which will improve the quality of your ArcGIS system.

Note: For non-English service packs, there is no need to download and install both English and a language-specific service pack.

For details on what’s included, please see the list of issues that are addressed in ArcGIS 10.1 SP1.

ArcGIS for Desktop Advanced, Standard, Basic and ArcReader
ArcGIS for Server*
ArcGIS Engine

*The ArcGIS for Server service pack downloads are available on the Customer Care Site for customers who are current on software maintenance. To obtain the ArcGIS for Server Service Pack downloads, please follow the same process your organization uses to obtain Esri software.

Windows 8 / Windows Server 2012 supported at ArcGIS 10.1 SP1

Windows 8 and Windows 2012 Server are now officially supported starting at ArcGIS 10.1 SP1.  More details are available on the ArcGIS Resource Center Blog.

The Esri software system requirements pages have been updated to reflect this.

Tracking Server 10 SP2 Released

We are pleased to announce the release of the Tracking Server 10 Service Pack 2, which contains a fix for a Tracking Server memory leak, as well as a couple of other immprovements and maintenance fixes. This Service Pack is cumulative and contains all fixes included in previous Tracking Server 10 Service Packs.

ArcGIS 10.0 SP2 Internet Tiled Layers Patch Released

The ArcGIS 10.0 Service Pack 2 (Desktop, Engine) Internet Tiled Layers Patch is now live at the Resource Center.

The patch addresses issues with ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Engine crashing after accessing a tiled Internet service (Bing Maps or ArcGIS Onlnie Basemaps) when there is a response delay. For more details and to download the patch, please visit:

Our RSS Feeds Will Keep You Up-to-Date

NOTE – This blog contains out-of-date content. As of February 2016, the Esri Support website (support.esri.com) has disabled its RSS feeds. These feeds will be replaced with a new application which allows you to subscribe to Support content. We will keep you updated about these changes as more information becomes available.

Other hosted websites, such as blogs.esri.com, are not affected. The RSS feed for this blog is still active.

Want to be updated as soon as a new service pack or patch is released? Want to read the latest white paper immediately after it’s published online? The ability to be notified as soon as a new technical article, white paper, patches and service packs, and more is available via RSS feeds.

Most email clients support RSS feed subscriptions, so you needn’t miss any important releases.  Below is a step-by-step process for subscribing to the Patches and Service Pack RSS feed for Microsoft Outlook. The screen shots here are for Outlook 2010, but all versions allow for RSS subscription integration.

1. Visit Patches and Service Packs.

2. Click the RSS icon on the right of the page.

3. Copy the URL from the resulting page.

4. Open your Outlook email client and follow the steps in the screenshot below.

5. After you have successfully subscribed to the new RSS feed, a new folder will be created containing all new notifications about patches.

RSS feeds can also be managed easily using free Web-based feed readers, such as Google Reader, or through many Web-based email clients.
