What’s New in Business Analyst Online?

Earlier this week we released some updated data on Business Analyst Online, including an exciting update to 2012 business locations.

This release includes the following updates:

  • January 2012 Business Location Data - Available in the Business Locator report and Business Search.
  • January 2012 Business Summary Data (Now in 2010 Geography) – Available in the Business Summary Report, Color-Coded Maps, Smart Map Search, and Custom Comparison Report.
  • Updated 2011B Crime Data (Now in 2010 Geography) - Available in Color-Coded Maps and Smart Map Search.

2011 Tapestry Data in 2010 Geography

The 2011 Tapestry data is now available in the Tapestry Segmentation Area Profile and the Dominant Tapestry Map.  This data is now available in 2010 geography.

Business Analyst API for Flex 2.2 Released and Business Analyst Flex Widgets available for Download

The Esri Business Analyst API for Flex enables you to build dynamic rich Internet applications (RIAs) using the same functionality in the Esri Business Analyst Online and the Business Analyst Server REST APIs. On Thursday, December 29th, 2011, the Business Analyst API for Flex Version 2.2 has been released.

Along with this, we have also made three Business Analyst Widgets for the Flex Viewer available. These include Smart Map Search, Comparison Report and Business Search.

Place and Road Labels above Color Coded Maps

How many times you have created a color-coded map from our list of close to 6000 variables (yes, I said 6000) and turned it completely opaque to see the colors come to life? There is one small problem with that. Once you set the transparency to 0% then you will not be able to see the roads or places below these colors. How many times have you wondered that it’ll be great if you have a way to look at these without losing your beautiful colors? If you are, you are not alone. Some of you brought this issue to our attention so, as usual, we decided to do something about it.
