Participating in Community Maps is easier than ever. The Contribution Management App (CMA) streamlines applying, contributing and tracking your contribution. The app even has a short “click-though” agreement that grants Esri permission to use the content while your organization retains ownership of the intellectual property.
We’ve also added easy to use geoprocessing tools to further simplify preparing your data for participation. This is a suite of tools you can run from ArcGIS Desktop to select only the fields we need for mapping and format them for uploading. This is far simpler than the previous requirement of migrating content to a special data model.
These enhancements are covered in a new five-minute video that walks you through the CMA and demonstrates how to prep a data layer using the GP tools. It’s a great way to get up and running with Community Maps in a hurry.
