What’s New in Story Maps (ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5.1)

Esri Story Maps let you combine authoritative maps with narrative text, images, and multimedia content, making it easy to harness the power of maps and geography to tell your story.

ArcGIS Enterprise is flexible server software for mapping and analytics that allows you to easily manage your location-enabled data and bring a browser-based GIS into your infrastructure. For additional information about what’s new in the 10.5.1 release, see the what’s new in Server and Portal help topics and these ArcGIS blog posts about the 10.5.1 release.

Story Map Cascade

Story Map Cascade is included in the ArcGIS Enterprise 10.5.1 portal.

Cascade is a story map app that lets you combine narrative text with maps, images, and multimedia content in an engaging, full-screen scrolling experience. In a Cascade story, narrative sections containing text and in-line media can be interspersed with immersive sections that fill the screen with your maps, 3D scenes, images, and videos.

Cascade is ideal for making compelling, in-depth stories that are very easy for people to navigate. For more information and tips about building Cascade stories see these blog posts and our series of How To Cascade story maps. My Stories Portal Item

An item for the My Stories app is now included in the ArcGIS 10.5.1 Enterprise portal.

My Stories lets you view and manage the story maps you’ve created on your Enterprise portal. My Stories presents detailed information about your story maps and includes tools for viewing, sharing, editing, and checking your story so you can identify and correct any issues. This helps you ensure your stories are the best they can be and work correctly for the level of sharing you have chosen.

The My Stories app has been included since Portal for ArcGIS 10.4, but having an item available makes it easier for Enterprise portal members to find. Administrators may want to consider adding the My Stories item to the featured content group so it is visible from the home page of your Enterprise portal.
