Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS is a pure HTML5/JavaScript-based application that allows you to create your own intuitive, fast, and beautiful web apps without writing a single line of code. The app uses new ArcGIS platform features and modern browser technology to provide both flexible and powerful capabilities such as 3D visualization of data. In addition, developers have an opportunity to create custom tools and app themes through the extensibility framework. Come to this session to learn how you can configure GIS apps that run seamlessly across all devices.

Customizing and Extending Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS
> Thursday July 13, 1:30 pm, SDCC – Room 33A

Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS is an HTML5/JavaScript-based application that is built with the ArcGIS API for JavaScript. It allows users to create intuitive, fast and beautiful web apps for 2D and 3D data. As a developer, you can create your own focused workflows by building custom widgets which your end users can then configure into their applications. In addition, you can completely customize the look and feel of the app by developing your own styles and layouts. Attend this session to learn about customizing and extending Web AppBuilder.

Topic: ways2see – Wayfinding for people with visual impairments or blindness
Presenters: Susanne Zimmermann-Janschitz and Sebastian Drexel

Abstract:
ways2see is a Web AppBuilder based information platform designed for people with visual impairments or blindness. As a pre-trip planning tool it is intended to support the users in planning their daily routes according to their individual needs. The system avoids barriers and offers a sufficient amount of orientation features as hints and landmarks along the way.

ArcGIS Desktop is used for data management, automatic data acquisition and network analysis (NA). The NA is additionally adapted to the needs of the users,
especially concerning linear information, e.g. where a person is moving along (wall, fence etc.).

Web AppBuilder is used for designing the user interface, adopting pre-defined widgets to the needs by integrating different user-profiles. Furthermore the results and the user-interface are provided in an accessible way, e.g. available for screen readers.

The slogan of ways2see can be summarized as ‘accessible information about accessibility’.

Industry Neighborhood Areas

In the Convention Center main Expo hall, Web AppBuilder will also be featured in many industry specific demos. These include the following industries: commercial, envisioning centers, health and human services, sustainability – nonprofit and global organizations, maritime, public safety, utilities, and at the ArcGIS Solutions island. We suggest you visit and checkout these areas so you can experience and learn more about how Web AppBuilder can be used to help with your organization’s business workflows.

Lastly, the Esri UC is not just about work and no play. We encourage you to checkout this list of social activities at UC and have some fun!

Hope to see you there,
The Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS Dev team
