Explore ArcGIS Explorer in a Free Training Seminar

A new free training seminar covers everything you need to know to get started using ArcGIS Explorer, the free GIS viewer from ESRI. If you’ve used previous versions, the seminar offers an easy way to get up to speed on the latest ArcGIS Explorer features and capabilities and the enhanced interface. And you can’t beat the price.

In just under an hour, you’ll learn all the basics—how to navigate the various interface components, view content in 2D and 3D, and add different types of content to the default map. Then the cool stuff—you’ll learn how to create popups, notes, and dynamic ArcGIS Explorer presentations (I like to call them geopresentations).

In the demo below, Bern Szukalski, senior product manager and technology evangelist at ESRI, shows how simple it is to create a geopresentation that will wow your audience. Why confine yourself to boring PowerPoint bullets when you can just click to add map “slides” that play in a live ArcGIS Explorer session?

Note: The demo is 15 MB and may take a moment to load.

I tried the ArcGIS Explorer seminar and the audio is fine but the video is solid black — no images at all. What did I miss?

The video is working fine for others. Try clicking the Test the Sample Presentation link inside the seminar to verify you have the correct software.

The problem seemed to be that I had the GIS Explorer running when I tried the Sample Presentation. When I shut it down I could see the video.
