We are seeking individuals to support customers and partners as Technical Advisors with the Esri Enterprise Advantage Program (EEAP).
Christie, EEAP Program Manager, sums the role up this way: a Technical Advisor provides proactive advice and advocacy in developing a partner’s or customer’s GIS vision and strategic initiatives to meet their business goals.
What’s her vision of the ideal candidate? “Someone who is a good collaborator, making communication a two-way street, and brings the customer to the table as an active participant … someone who can be proactive and not just wait for the customer to call them.” Applicants should have strong knowledge of and experience with Esri software offerings in the areas of desktop, server, and online technologies and the ability to match these to customer requirements. They should also be self-motivated, creative in problem solving, and have the ability to facilitate discussion in an effort to provide what Christie describes as “idea incubation.”
Technical Advisor and delivery lead Emily recalls the rewarding aspects of the role: “When you understand what the customer is trying to accomplish, you see the bigger picture and then can help them achieve that. You really become that trusted advisor who they can come to when looking for advice with Esri technology.”
Currently there are more than 250 customers and partners in the program. The Technical Advisor role is a growing position, allowing employees high visibility at this exciting point in the program and company as a whole.
