Explore San Diego in Person or from your Desktop with Esri Maps

On its 17th anniversary in 1997, the Esri International User Conference (Esri UC) moved its location from Palm Springs to San Diego to accommodate the 7,000 users planning to attend. Today, the Esri UC continues to be held in San Diego, with some 15,000 customers descending upon the city each July. Esri employees and conference attendees love the lively atmosphere and multitude of activities that San Diego has to offer its visitors, prompting us to create a set of maps to guide them in their pursuit of fun. Even if you’re not attending the Esri UC this year, these maps can be useful if San Diego is a summer destination.

Check out the Esri story map of the Best Places in San Diego. Story maps combine intelligent web maps with web applications and templates that incorporate text, multimedia, and interactive functions. Zoom in on certain areas of the city to see what attractions are close to your restaurant/activity of choice. Be sure to click on the pictures in the left-hand panel to get a description of the venue, complete with hours of operation, address, and phone number. Story maps make a great travel guide, whether you’re attending the Esri UC or just looking to explore San Diego on your own.
