ArcGIS Online map services updated to provide more coverage worldwide
Last night, the ArcGIS Online team made a big update to the following map services:
When you take a look at these services, you’ll see new levels of detail were added at 1:1,000 and 1:2,000 scales in many metropolitan areas around the world. We also added nationwide coverage at 1:5,000 in the same countries outside of the metropolitan areas. One of the goals was to provide consistency in coverage, particularly in metropolitan areas, when switching back and forth between these services. If you use World Imagery, you’ll notice there is more consistency in coverage with this service as well.
The following maps give you an idea of where the coverage is. The areas with levels of detail at 1:1,000 and 1:2,000 are highlighted in red. The areas in orange represent street level detail at the expanded 1:5,000 scale.
