We’re happy to report that two additional batches of the large set (up to 50 million square kilometers) of high-resolution imagery to be added to the World_Imagery map service are fully processed and published to ArcGIS Online.
The World Imagery map was recently updated to include expanded coverage of 1m resolution GeoEye IKONOS imagery for parts of Europe, Russia, and China. This represents the fifth and sixth of several updates over the next few months as additional IKONOS imagery is fully processed and published. Below are some sample images.

Detailed information for these updates is available in the associated metadata layer for the World Imagery map service.
Metadata: This service is metadata-enabled. With the Identify tool in ArcMap or the ArcGIS Online Content Viewer, you can see the resolution, collection date, and source of the imagery at the location you click. The metadata applies only to the best available imagery at that location. You may need to zoom in to view the best available imagery.
Please check back for future updates to the World Imagery map service.
The service was updated on the following servers: services.arcgisonline.com and server.arcgisonline.com. If you have previously used the World Imagery map, you may need to clear your cache in order to see the updates.
