A question we frequently get asked by the water, wastewater and stormwater ArcGIS user community is what events we recommend attending at the Esri International User Conference. Below are some of our recommendations for the 2012 User Conference.
The recommendations we are providing are only a small part of the experience available to you at the User Conference. There are hundreds of Moderated Paper Presentations and Tech Workshops to attend as well as countless opportunities to exchange information with your peers. We suggest you use Agenda Search and Planner to plan your UC schedule. You can search the Agenda by keywords such as “water”, “sewer” or “stormwater”.
Our recommendations for the 2012 Esri International User Conference are:
Saturday July 21st
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM: Team Water/Wastewater Meeting – Room 25A/B
The Team Water/Wastewater Meeting takes place before the User Conference every year and is open anyone interested in using ArcGIS for water, wastewater and stormwater.

Tuesday July 24th
8:30 AM to 9:45 AM: ArcGIS for Local Government: An Introduction – Room 28C
9:00 AM: Exhibit Hall Opens
Visit the ArcGIS for Water Utilities team at the ArcGIS for You Island in the Esri Showcase.
Water utilities can also take advantage of the free GIS data health checks. Be sure to schedule an appointment in advance as this is very popular.
10:15 AM to 11:30 AM: Migrating your Data to the ArcGIS for Local Government Model – Room 28C
Learn about the information model that ArcGIS for Water Utilities uses and how to migrate your data to it.
Wednesday July 25th
8:45 AM to 9:45 AM: Geometric Networks: An Introduction – Ballroom 06F
A sound knowledge of the geometric network is critical for water utility GIS users.
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: Team Water/Wastewater Meeting – Room 25C
Get an update on water, watewater and stormwater user community activities.
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM: ArcGIS for Local Government Special Interest Group – Room 24A
This is your opportunity to learn about future ArcGIS for Local Government and ArcGIS for Water Utilities plans and to provide direct feedback to the development teams. You can also share information with peers who have implemented ArcGIS for Water Utilities.
7:00 PM to 10:00 PM: Water/Wastewater Pool Party – Hilton Bayfront Pool Terrace
This a great opportunity to hang out with your peers in the water, wastewater and stormwater user community and exchange information in a social setting.
