SP3 is ready to download. See http://resources.arcgis.com/content/patches-and-service-packs?fa=viewPatch&PID=66&MetaID=1802
9.3 had a bug where you couldn’t just hit the “Apply” button when enhancing raster/satellite images after changing the RBG Composite values in the Symbology. You would have to change the stretch type or another parameter and then click “Apply” and then change the Stretch type/parameter back to what you wanted in the first place. It was so annoying. There was no such bug in 10. Now after installing SP3, it’s back. I’m so excited…n’t (That’s a negative contraction if you’re wondering).
Jchuita – Can you provide some more information on how to reproduce the issue with stretch parameters not changing after “Apply”. We have not been able to reproduce the issue.
Hi, thanks for replying. I am using MODIS and RapidEye imagery and I use the symbology features to enhancement the images. I import a previous enhancement or choose a stretch type such as Min-Max or Std Dev. I then choose the statistics dropdown “From Custom Settings (below)” I proceed to change the RGB values to enhance the image. In the first and second versions of 10.0 when I hit “Apply”, the image color enhancement would change on screen automatically. In the 9.3 version I was using as well as the new 10.0 service pack 3 version, the color enhancement does not change automatically when I hit “Apply” after changing the RGB values. You have to change some other parameter such as the Stretch Type or the quickest way I found is to check the “Display Background Value” then hit “Apply” and so on until I get the enhancement I want. This just adds another step in my processing which takes a while when I am changing the RGB values numerous times to get the enhancement I want. I had my coworker try to reproduce the problem with SP3 on a raster image and on the very first try, it worked fine. After the first try, he then had the same problem. Even when closing and re-opening the symbology properties and trying it again, the problem reoccurred. So it literally only worked correctly on the very first attempt. Let me know if you need more info. Thanks.
Thanks. OK now can reproduce. Will be fixed for SP4.
