Adding Maps and Geographic Analysis to Recovery.gov

This week, the Federal Recovery Accountability and Transparency Board is hosting an online forum looking for input from the Information Technology (IT) community on how Recovery.gov can be designed to enhance information access and transparency. For more info, see http://www.recovery.gov/.
Here is ESRI's position on the matter, and what Jack will be bringing to the conversation: http://www.esri.com/company/stimulus_recovery.html
The crux of Jack's message is this:
"IDEA: Add Mapping and Geographic Analysis to Recovery.Gov. Mapping and Geographic Analysis capabilities would enable Recovery.Gov to provide a "full picture" of stimulus spending as envisioned by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)."
This seems like a no-brainer to us on Mapping Center, but maybe that is because we think about maps all the time. We can all take this opportunity to bring more attention to the power of maps through the online forum. Why not take a moment to add your own two-cents worth?
There is another blog post on this from an ESRI employee here: http://blogs.esri.com/Dev/blogs/arcobjectsdevelopment/archive/2009/04/24/Recovery.gov-needs-to-hear-from-the-GIS-Community-_2D00_-Next-Week_2100_.aspx
