It would be more educational to utilize an area outside of New York City this is more representative of the database problems that are commonly encountered. The quality of the available databases declines significantly in smaller communities. This also would provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the value of metadata and to show just how little of it is made available to users of geocoding spatial databases. What is the actual source of the data (not the name of the immediate provider)? What time stamp is associated with the data? Etc.

Thanks Dr Marble. Indeed, this makes for an excellent bridge into discussing the value of metadata. I also shall try the AGOL geocoding service in a smaller community and compare the results.
