&lt;p&gt;I do however have a couple of queries w.r.t performance (i'm pushing aside the pros/cons associated with each storage format - i think the paper does that relatively well), what i'm interested in is some statistics (or real-world experience) on performance w.r.t. ArcSDE raster catalogs/mosiacs vs AGS Image Services (both cached &amp;amp; uncached) both as separate services &amp;amp; as combined (e.g. using AGS Images services based upon both flat-file, data stored in ArcSDE gdb etc). &amp;nbsp;Moreover, is there published info or even knowlege that you or users can share w.r.t. what is the reccomended solution for maximum performance as i'm yet to see that presented.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I know there are a lot of influences when it comes to performance, however i'm sure there is real-world experience/guidelines or even formal inhouse test scenarios when it comes to architecturing a solution (re perf) rather than having to proof-of-concept the scenario's individually. &amp;nbsp;Look forward to hearing from you or others on what experience you can share. &amp;nbsp;brad&lt;/p&gt;
