- can we have some video tutorials also for beginners

- we can also have links to the developer summits videos, they are good (maybe we can have them in a better quality)

-

thank you

and some way of providing incentive to us to do guest posts so we can increase the amount of knowledge out there to build upon. other than getting points to earn a free copy of arcview...

thanks for all your help this past year!

ESRI must have some staff that can offer some of these wonderful extensions for those using the JAVA version. This is after all the AGS BLOG and not just a AGS .NET BLOG. In any case, I very much appreciate all the valuable extensions and ideas put out on this BLOG.

What were Java guys doing in ESRI in last year ?

This Blog is all good, but sadly I only saw .NET stuffs. ESRI officially supports two platforms, .NET and Java, but why only .NET developer' blog ? Given the poor documented Java ADF, I hope you Java developers can also speak up, at least to give us a feeling that Java ADF is still officially supported by ESRI !.

You'll be interested to know that we've been working on some Java-related posts. The first should appear within the next few days.

As for videos- I had not considered that but seems do-able to me and is definitely something we can look into. Let us know what would be most helpful to record.

I have gotten alot out of this blog. I would never have been able to get the loading image to appear with the blog post that explained how to do it. Stuff that is harder to find info on such as that make this blog well worth while.

One thing I would like is to do a "Ask the dev team" post every so often. Basically allow us to email/submit questions and your team answers it. I know that's what the forums are for but I am talking about more general questions like what would be asked at a round table meeting at a conference.

re: The ArcGIS Server Development Blog celebrates one year of operation!

Would it be possible to get code snipets posted where they could be color coded to show pieces that:

-tie to other files
-tie to user data
-tie to map controls

If there were things like this to help people still learning how the entire framework runs, that would help a lot as well for the beginners.

re: The ArcGIS Server Development Blog celebrates one year of operation!

This is a great blog that has been extremely valuable, especially since the official documentation is lacking. I think that the request from Kevin Dunlop about “ask the dev team” is a great idea; one of the sports writers that I follow does this every Thursday and I look to forward to his comments.

I have just found the Blog and it has helped me more than the forum. I think that the ask the Dev team would be an outstanding addition. I would also like to see if you can create something on created and running custom forms to display data along with the map. I found the table task results and it is great.

re: The ArcGIS Server Development Blog celebrates one year of operation!

Thanks for always keeping those article coming.
There were already some good ideas, that I can vote for: from jxn,Kevin Dunlop, Stephen.

I'd also like to see the structure and tips concerning the Javascript objects - maps, toolbars, etc.

But the most common and important thing I've understand from these comments - we need this blog to be more interactive.
